CITY HALL — City Council and constituents booed New York City Mayor Eric Adams out of office after he posted his Spotify Wrapped on today. In doing so, the mayor unknowingly revealed that his music data placed him in New Jersey.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Adams posted a short video about how even if he takes a private limo to work, he still listens to music on his commute “just like the average New Yorker.” In a now-deleted Instagram post, the mayor’s Spotify Wrapped labeled him a “Club Promoter” before disclosing his “Sound Town” is Fort Lee, NJ.
Many of his critics just ran with it.
Reporters have questioned Adams’s residency since his days on the mayoral campaign trail, as he owns at least 3 properties that we know of—one of which is located in his aforementioned Sound Town.
Jasmine Ballard, 32, works as a professional Spotify Wrapped Analyzer. December 1st is basically Christmas for them, just like that one Mariah Carey song. They own a psychic store, one that the average New Yorker passes and often wonders how those places afford rent.
“I think people are right to dunk on him for his Spotify Wrapped,” they said. “He had way too much Drake in his chart. I like a little Champagne Papi too, but all 5 top songs? That’s what’s really suspicious.”
